Sensei Ryan Telfer

Ryan began his martial arts training in 1987 at the age of 7 in Espanola, Ontario. Over the next 10 years, he studied under several karate instructors, attaining success in local tournaments and cultivating what would become a life-long love.

While doing undergraduate studies at the University of Waterloo, Ryan studied kendo for a short time, before finding Master Aubrey Millard, who he has been training under since 2002.

Ryan's enthusiasm and love for the Martial Arts inspire training partners and students to be thier best. Ryan is a fierce competitor , his spirit and intensity have led him to dozens of first place finishes in forms ,Fighting and Self Defense.

Ryan uses his knowledge of anatomy, nutrition, and weight training to achieve his athletic goals, and is always willing to help others achieve theirs.

Ryan continues to train at Canadian Martial Arts Center and is currently a 1st Dan and Junior instructor at the school.

2003 and Spring 2006 Adult Men Division Champion at the Millenium Invitational tournament, Cleveland, OH

Over 30 first place finishes in various divisions in tournaments since 1995, with many more 2nd to 4th place awards.
Several 1st place kata finishes have been performing self-created forms.
