Anti-Spam Guestbook version 3.40 configuration files

Although some of the config files can be modified by hand, it is not recommended that you do. Just modify them through the script.



asblank.dat
This file contains the sayings that will be inserted into a entry when the user omits their country and city.

ASGBlog.txt
Not a configuration file but a error log file. Any errors encountered when the guestbook runs will be recorded here and can be viewed with the config script.

asprefs.dat
This file contains the color variables and image paths for the guestbook.

asvars.dat
This file contains the saved configuration variables for the guestbook.

banlist.txt
This file contains the list of IP addresses that are banned from the guestbook.

banlog.txt
This file contains the information that was flagged by one of the filters when someone tried to post something inapropriate. Depending on the setting there will either be full information or just standard info. Each entry can include the date,Name,email,IP address,the message, what the filter caught etc.

db.txt
This file contains the entries for the guestbook.
DO NOT EDIT THIS FILE BY HAND!
It is recommended that you backup this file from time to time.

English.txt
This file contains all the words that are used in the script. In the future there will be different language files available.
This file contains things like the error messages,button text etc.

filter.dat
This file contains the words that will be flagged by the filter.

html.dat
This file contains the HTML templates for the Guestbook, Search Bar, error page, Entries, Addgues Page and the email templates.

musthave.txt
This file contains the words that MUST be present in a post.
You can configure how many of these words must be in a post with the config script.
These are very common words like: it,is,the,at,in,are etc.

scanfilter.dat
This file contains the words that will be used to filter when scanning URL's.

session.dat
This file contains information about your login session for the config script.
It contains your user name, password(encrypted), last login, time session started, the time for the cookie to expire (1 hour) and a uniquie session ID.
Don't modify this file! if you screw something up just delete is and let the script create a new one or copy a new one from the zip/tar.gz archive.

templates.dat
This file contains HTML templates for the Guestbook, Entries and the addguest page.
This is also where the custom templates that you create will be strored.

asMessages.dat
This file contains the messages that will be shown to the user when thier message was flagged as 1.Spam 2.Junk (a garbage message) or 3. If they were banned for spamming.

asEntries.dat
This file contains the HTML template for the guestbook entry and the templates for the Notification and Thank You emails.

asvars.dat
This file contains the saved configuration variables for the guestbook.

errmessage.dat
This file contains the error messages that will be displayed if there was an error when the submission was made. This was created so some users could customize the error messages and be able to put them into a different language.

html.dat
This file contains the HTML templates for the Guestbook, Search Bar and the error page.

state_save.dat
This is usually a temp file that the script creates when you try to do something after a session has expired. When you login again it will ask you if you want to restore the last saved session. Once you log back and restore or discard the saved session the script deletes this file.

filter.dat
This is the word file for the spam filter.
